My Mommy Shots – aka Wheatgrass

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of wheatgrass? Green goodness? Amazing health benefits? Rabbit food? Grossness?


I tend to think of the last one… Wheatgrass is definitely NOT one of my favorite superfoods. However, I have started making a shot of it every day (again…I kind of stopped after my son was born) because I know it has great health benefits. Baby J was at my feet when I juiced my shot this morning, and he kept asking signing for “more.” So, I put a little bit in a straw and let him have some. He did not make the face I expected, but immediately got up and walked out of the kitchen. I guess I know what to give him now if he is in my way while I make dinner! Ha. 

I received this juicer as a gift from a friend. It is super easy to take apart and rinse after each use. Once it is dry, I just put it back together and put it on the counter for the next day. In case you don’t know, I really like not taking a lot of time to prepare foods/drinks while I have a little one running around. Unless it’s dessert…which I may be in the process of making as I write this blog…recipe to follow. šŸ˜‰


What is your favorite superfood? Have you tried juicing moringa? I have several trees in my yard and am planning on trying a shot of those soon!
